
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942, and died on September 3, 2019, was an American actress who was best recognized for her roles in Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and an Irish father and a New England mother. After establishing her career as an actor, she was a model for children. She was awarded the Theatre World Award in 1956-57 for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley started her career in film in the year 1958 with the Disney film The Light in the Forest, which was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959) and Blue Denim (1959). For her film The Light in the Forest, Lynley was nominated in 1959 for the Golden Globe Award. In the following year she was again nominated for the Golden Globe Award as Most Promising Female Newcomer.
